Adam Gewanter
Senior Vice President
TAO Group
Adam Gewanter is a stalwart leader in the fight against cancer. Adam began volunteering with the American Cancer Society when he brought his company, TAO Group, to participate in Marking Strides Against Breast Cancer in both New York City and Chicago – where nearly $100,000 was raised in the first year. Most recently – TAO was the presenting sponsor of the NYC Strides, raising nearly $200,000. Additionally – Adam was instrumental in securing live auction experiences for the Chicago Discovery Ball and Taste of Hope events that have generated over $200,000 in life saving dollars. And in 2019 – Adam joined the Il Area Board – and immediately took on the role of Chair for the Chicagoland Real Men Wear Pink. Since 2019, Adam has led fundraising efforts that have eclipsed $2 million – and most notable - the Chicagoland campaign was the #1 campaign in the entire nation in 2021 raising nearly $670,000 (this is the national record for RMWP). Beyond the incredible revenue generation – Adam leads and mentors the great staff of IL to ensure that innovation is always top of mind, and holds the entire team to the highest standards, because as Adam says: “Cancer affects all of us, and its our obligation to bring the fight directly to cancer, and find ways to help everyone we can."
